On February 16, Mexican light heavyweight Jorge Gonzalez knocked out Luke Barnatt and won the biggest victory of his career. Now Jorge is on a streak of 6 consecutive victories, 5 of which won by knockout. Jorge spoke with us and answered a few questions after the fight.
Hello Jorge. Congratulations to you on such a spectacular victory at ACA 92. Tell us how do you feel and what do you think about your performance?
- I feel very grateful to ACA for giving me this great opportunity.
In this promotion there are excellent fighters so I prepared myself to the fullest and I am happy with my performance, although with each battle it gets more difficult as the competition level grows.
You’ve just defeated Luke Barnatt, the number 3 ranked fighter in ACA’s light heavyweight division, is there someone who you want to face next inside the cage?
- I strive to become the champion, so I will face any fighter they put in front of me.
You have 11 KO’s/TKO’s out of your 14 victories and now you’re on a 6 fight win streak (with 5 KO/TKO). Also, all of your fights were finished in the 1st round. Tell us why this is? Why do you have a ferocious style that mean you always looking to put opponents to sleep as soon as possible?
- In each of my camps I prepare myself very well, and as I go forward I prepare myself more and more, as I am facing the best.
I love what I do and that's why in every battle I always give the best of me, so as not to leave anything in the hands of the judges and to get out the least hurt possible. You know I'm good at putting people away. I don’t need no judges.
Have you seen ACA 92 main event? What can you say about ACA LHW champ Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov and his skills?
- He is a very complete fighter, very strong and very professional. I hope to be able to face him, since he is the champion and without a doubt it will be a very hard war, where I will leave everything in the cage.
