Islam Makoev will take on Gleristone Santos at ACB 80, February 16th in Krasnodar. Islam has shared his thoughts about his previous fight, training camp for an upcoming bout and more:
I don't think that the lay off effected my performance somehow. It was more about acclimatizing. I've fought on a different continent, and didn't have enough time to adopt to the climate there.
Now I feel great. I'm training with my team at "Akhmat" gym. The training camp is going good. I'm getting ready, preparing specifically for my opponent. I would prefer to get him to the ground and do what I'm best at. But will see.
There will be a lot of fans from our republic at ACB 80. I think their support will only help us. And we'll do our best to make a great show for all our fans.
